Grandstream GXP2200 Product Details
The GXP2200 is the latest release from Grandstream. It is one of the first office phones to use the power of android in a desk device. Subsequently The GXP2200 feels more like a smartphone than a traditional desk phone. The standard features of Grandstream are combined with the functionality of Android to create a phone perfect for running a business.
Display
Those familiar with smartphones will understand the advantages of the GXP2200. The 480 x 272 pixel capacitive touch screen display provides a responsive user interface that is incredibly easy to navigate, with a familiar app-based layout.
The initial home screen displays a status bar, account screen and on screen menu logo. Up to 6 accounts can be registered, displayed and selected on the home screen. For functionality the status bar displays time, connectivity, signal strength and notifications (for example new voicemail).
Ten dedicated function keys support the following features; mute, hold, phone book, message, headset, transfer, conference, volume, speaker and send/redial. An on-screen keyboard feature makes browsing for data extremely efficient.
Android
The benefit of using an Android based operating system is the access you gain to third party applications. Grandstream has its own market, and from here you can install Google Play. Available applications include; Skype, Google Voice, Microsoft Lync Client, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter and an SDK toolkit in order to build and test your own apps.
Audio
The GXP2200 has a HD wideband headset and a hands-free speaker phone with advanced acoustic echo cancellation and excellent double-talk performance so you can rest assured that your calls will be the highest of quality.

Editors Review
The GXP2200 is a superb multi-line Android based phone. As with most of the Grandstream products, the High Definition handset delivers rich crystal clear audio. The display, as you would expect from an Android phone, is a multi-screen display which is completely customisable using widgets, to show weather, stock information, contacts, e-mails and much more. Standard VoIP features, such as Call Hold, Transfer, Conferencing, Speakerphone, Volume, Mute and Voicemail are easily accessible using the phone keypad.
The phone ships with the Grandstream Market but, Android Play Store can also be installed simply; giving you access to literally millions of Android Apps. There is an extensive 500 number call history. This phone is let down a little by not allowing synchronisation of contacts with your Google account. However, we're liaising with the development team within Grandstream to make this feature available on the handset in future.
Expansion is pretty well catered for with this phone. There's an SD card slot for extra storage, as well as a USB (host) port, to connect other devices such as a memory key, WiFi dongle, keyboard or mouse.
All in all, from a "techy" point of view, this is an already excellent phone, with potential to be even greater.
